Infant Formula: Authenticity Concerns & Packaging Inspection Guide

This guide helps you inspect infant-formula packaging when your order arrives and before use. It is not an authenticity certificate. A seal, barcode, batch code, product photograph or packaging appearance alone cannot establish whether a product is genuine or safe.

1. Check the product and outer packaging

Compare the delivered product name, formula stage, pack size and pack type with your order. Look for punctures, leaks, moisture damage, damaged seams, unusual opening marks or signs of resealing. Keep the delivery packaging and invoice if you notice a concern.

2. Inspect seals before opening

Inspect the closure and any tamper-evident features present on your specific pack. Look for broken, lifted, torn or apparently replaced seals, glue residue or evidence that the pack has already been opened. Seal designs can differ between tins and refill packs. Do not assume every product should have the same seal arrangement. If a seal is missing, damaged or uncertain, do not use the product while you seek clarification.

3. Read the labels

Check that the product name, stage, net quantity, manufacturer or importer details, preparation instructions and storage information are legible. Photograph unreadable, obscured or inconsistent information. Do not remove labels or alter the pack while a concern is being reviewed. Follow the instructions on the actual pack rather than an online photograph.

4. Check batch and date information

Locate the batch or lot code and the printed manufacture, expiry or best-before information, as applicable. Check that the information is legible and that the product is within its labelled date. If codes or dates appear altered, overwritten, missing or inconsistent across parts of the same pack, do not use it until the issue is clarified. Do not guess an unclear date or treat a barcode scan as confirmation of authenticity.

5. If something concerns you

Do not feed formula from a pack that is expired, has a damaged seal, or raises an unresolved packaging or authenticity concern. Keep the product, all packaging and your invoice. Take clear photographs of the front, back, closure, seals, batch code and dates, plus any damage. Record your order number, delivery date and the issue you noticed.

Use Momeaze's Contact Us page to find the available contact options for order concerns. Include your order number and photographs when contacting the team. For a manufacturer-specific packaging or batch question, use the manufacturer's contact details printed on the pack and request confirmation for that exact product and batch.

What not to assume

Online discussions, a low price, a packaging difference or a suspected counterfeit report do not establish that a particular pack is counterfeit. Equally, familiar packaging, an intact-looking seal or a scannable code do not prove authenticity. Ask for product- and batch-specific confirmation rather than relying on visual comparisons alone.

Do not assume that Momeaze is an authorised distributor, sources directly from the manufacturer, authenticates every batch, or performs any particular inspection or laboratory testing unless Momeaze supplies verified confirmation of that statement. This guide makes no claim about supplier authorisation, sourcing routes or quality-control procedures.

This page is packaging-inspection guidance, not advice on which formula to use. For feeding or health concerns, contact your child's healthcare professional. If your child becomes unwell after feeding, seek medical advice promptly and keep the pack details available.
